On our trip of October, 2006, from Miami to London the airport we used was Heathrow Airport. It is not the only airport servicing the Grater London area. We believe that there are at least four more: Gatwick Airport, London City Airport, Luton Airport and Stansted Airport.

As we arrived at Heathrow Airport everything went smooth and very fast thru immigration and customs. Soon we were picking up our luggage in the lower floor. There we had the chance to exchange our money to pounds. After that, out into the world we went.

These pictures show what we saw as we came out. At first we thought we where in the wrong place and started going back into the terminal when we saw the taxis and people walking toward where some other people were getting in the taxis. So we went that way and before we could ask, a person there asked us the address where we wanted to go. Next thing we were in a taxi on our way to the hotel. Everything went so fast we did not have a chance to think what was it we had to do nor to look around. Latter in London we learned that the Underground services Heathrow Airport and there are trains to the other airports.

On the way back very much the same thing happened. Soon we where in a waiting area where there are fast food restaurants and duty free stores. That area is past immigration and where they check the passengers. As the time for departure approached we moved to the waiting area for our flight and there was absolutely no problems or delays of any kind.

Security is high and we did not wanted to bother those people doing such an important job. So we did not take any pictures inside the airport. Overall, everywhere in the airport we had the impression it was under construction, still efficiency was such that coming in and going out was as fast, if not faster, than everywhere we have been.
