Close by the Palace of Quetzalpapálotl there are some wall paintings depicting jaguars blowing on feathered shells.

What is very interesting about the Quetzalpapálotl Palace is that it was built on top of another palace or temple, which our guide referred to as the Temple of the Feathered Shells. It looks like this older temple was filled and used as base for the newer one. There are some excavations through which we were able to see the underground paintings of the older temple. In the dark recesses of the forgotten temple, we got a glimpse of how colorful Teotihuacan must have been during its days of glory.
