In Teotihuacan, Mexico, there is a massive edifice called the “Pirámide de la Luna” or Pyramid of the Moon. Both times we have visited this magnificent place we have perceived the impression as if this pyramid is shadowed by the majestic “Pirámide del Sol” or Pyramid of the Sun. Still the Pyramid of the Moon appears to be of great importance in and of itself. |

What impressed us most about the Pyramid of the Moon is its location in relation to the other structures in Teotihuacan. This pyramid is where the Street of the Dead ends or starts. The other main edifices are on the side of the main street. Another interesting note, when we looked at it from atop the Pyramid of the Sun it was in balance with the other minor structures next to it, as if it is not another building but the main piece, the mother and shining jewel of the entire complex. |
